Planificando mi unidad PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY OF SPAIN. First step.



Mi primer paso para afrontar esta unidad siguiendo una metodología AICLE es programar ésta siguiendo una plantilla apropiada para ello:

4. Contextual (cultural) element
As the students are in the first Academic year of Secondary we will use visual resources as videos, photos and so on.

5. Cognitive (thinking) processes
a) Check out the previous knowledge of the students about the topic in order to make them feel more confident and ready to achieve more about it.
b) Learn and understand new vocabulary with the aim of understanding oral-visual-written pieces of information.
c) Discover the main mountain systems, coasts, islands and the five sorts of climate in Spain.
d) Food for thought: how different Spain is.

6. (a) Task(s)
- Complete different blank maps: rivers, mountains, climates, …  .
- Worksheet.
- Role playing tasks: “Secondary Weather Forecast”, “Back to the Future IV”, “geographers around Spain”, …
- Write about how different Spain is according to geography.

6. (b) Activities
- Listen and answer questions.
- Complete charts in the notebook.
- Flashcard game.
- Quiz.
- Watching a weather forecast on TV.
- Photos game.
- Practice in class: measuring the rainfall.


7. Methodology
Organization and class distribution / timing

-Organization: Depending on the activities and the intention of the teacher: in pairs, small groups and individual.

-Timing: 7 sessions of 50 minutes divided into four parts:

- Presentation (about 12’).
- Practice (12’).
- Production (12’).
- Conclusion (12’).
Resources / Materials

Notebooks, the usage of up-to-date technology through computers or tablets and working the internet and different apps (videos, presentations, graphics, dictionaries, ...)

Parto desde el trabajo conjunto con el departamento L2 programando amabas asignaturas qué contenidos lingüísticos debemos trabajar.
Facilito a los alumnos, de manera esquemática, qué objetivos lingüísticos queremos lograr.
